NY CARES ON SATURDAY

ON SATURDAYS, NY CARES Volunteers Teach classes from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.
ADULTS - ONGOING: Volunteers from the professional ranks teach a range of classes including Movie Maker, Web Design, E-mail, Internet Tools and Microsoft Word. Just drop by . No registration required when you are a Parks Recreation Center Member!

CHILDREN: We are now taking registration for youth based classes BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 22nd, 2007. Classes will run from 2:00-4:00 on Saturdays for ages 9-15 and will focus on digital media using the Apple Macintosh computers.

SUMMER RECYOUTH!

Believe it or not, the summer programming at the CRC at Hamilton Fish Park is winding down. August 16th is our last day!

We’ve done some great projects this summer, from creating animation using computers to creating a Hamilton Fish Park Blog focusing on the Basketball program and the swimming program at Hamilton Fish Park.

The teens we recruited from Henry Street Settlement are extremely talented and capable and they’ve learned lots about using computers to create news, animations,
illustrations, stories, photography, narrative film, and music videos. Some of them may be around this fall to work with younger people and we are excited about their projects. Thanks to each and every one of them.

Welcome Preston!

Welcome to the Hamilton Fish CRC Preston! Preston Coston is a new CRC coordinator. He is with us for the month of May and June and then he will be at Al Smith. But while Preston is here, all is good. Preston is a great addition to the CRC's in New York!

Whats Up Emile!

Emile is our resident youth musician for the month of June! He is in several bands and after 2 days he is fully immersed in Garage Band and ProTools! Hopefully he'll share some of his music on the HamFishBlog!

Resident Intern John Huang is here working on his tech credits from City as School High School. While here he has been learning to use Sketch-Up. To do what? Well, design his dream house, of course...

Come in to the center to do the same. Design a park, a car, invent and visualize!

Wednesday Night Web Night - ADULTS

HTML-PHOBIC?

This class is the easiest way to get the basics of Web Design and more! Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30.

This month we are doing basic HTML to start and Web Design using imaging software to bring it all together.

THis is an ongoing class so come any time.

Welcome High School for Dual Languages Students!

Students from the health class at High School for Dual Languages partnering with the Museum of Television and Radio, NYU, and the CRC at Hamilton Fish Park are here this month to do post production on their health PSAs. We look forward to the final edits!
