STARTING APRIL 16TH
Please note, this class is best for someone who already has shot something and just wants to edit the footage.
We have 8 Macs with FCP, but if you have your own camera with a fire wire cable, I would recommend bringing it the first day, as we may not have enough decks for everyone to digitize the footage at once.
please follow up via email nicole.jaquis@parks.nyc.gov if you would like to sign up for the class.

HAPPY 2008!
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Nicole Jaquis, the new CRC / RECYouth Coordinator at Hamilton Fish CRC. Though I am new to HamFish, I am not new to CRC and RECYouth. I started teaching RECYouth programming through City Parks Foundation’s Hook Productions at the Red Hook Recreation Center during the summer of 2005. Over the years I joined Oja Vincent and designed the Video and New Media side to our youth media program, ultimately developing Hook Productions into a full service youth production house, where teens could produce and record music, shoot and edit videos, design and print materials to market their creations, as well as learn to create web pages to host their portfolios online.
I officially joined Parks and CRC this summer, as I led a group of SYEP girls in a photography project in Sunset Park. By the Fall I was a floating RECYouth Coordinator, moving between Sunset Park, Tony Dapolito (in the West Village) and helping Mari and Carlo out in the Chelsea office.
So as Mari and Carlo have moved on to bigger and better things, and Ana Campos steps up to take their place, I am finally given a CRC home of my own in the LES! I am very excited to get to know all of you who use the HamFish CRC and to move our center technologically forward into 2008.
To help me develop programming that will serve the needs of our diverse patrons, please take the time to fill out this two page in depth survey. This way you can see all that we can offer, and I can see what you know and what you are interested in learning. You can download the survey via this link, print it out, fill it out and return it to one of our staff members in the CRC.
Thanks in advance!
Nicole

Believe it or not, the summer programming at the CRC at Hamilton Fish Park is winding down. August 16th is our last day!
We’ve done some great projects this summer, from creating animation using computers to creating a Hamilton Fish Park Blog focusing on the Basketball program and the swimming program at Hamilton Fish Park.
The teens we recruited from Henry Street Settlement are extremely talented and capable and they’ve learned lots about using computers to create news, animations,
illustrations, stories, photography, narrative film, and music videos. Some of them may be around this fall to work with younger people and we are excited about their projects. Thanks to each and every one of them.
To see some of their projects check back in a week or two as we finish our hamfishsummer07 blog!

They have helped the CRC at Hamilton Fish with a senior resources website and offered their evaluations of ways that the CRC might increase and improve on its senior technology services. Thanks to Tatanya, Vicki, Courtney, Mike, Sandy, and Monique. You all have been great to have around!
